Does this mean I am going to have to move back to Illinois to get my issue sooner? Scooped again!

They bumped my man Kal probably to make room for the Records To Die For feature. What a bummer! I sure hope this "to be continued" review format is not some new marketing scheme.

Well, if it is, bumping your favorite feature couldn't be considered a successful marketing scheme. (-;

Bumped!??! I did MITR in January and expect to appear in March. I get the month off in February.

Still, it's nice to hear that you care. :-)

Group Test in HiFi News 2004 issue 06-26

Hi-Fi The Ls3/5A wannabees: AVI Positron; Blue Note A-3; Harbeth HL-3PES-2; Pen Audio Rebel 2; Spendor S3/5se 2004 5

There was a great review in HiFi News on the new contendors for the replacement for the discontinued LS3/5A speaker. It was excellent if you can still find it. A panel of listeners commented on their finding for all the models in review. I believe you can buy on line as a download. Enjoy. Sure makes the free on-line reviews from Stereophile a real bargain. Kudos to JA.

Just to clarify, Kal's Kolumn (http://www.stereophile.com/musicintheround/) is published in alternate months, sharing the space with John Marks' "The 5th Element" (http://www.stereophile.com/thefifthelement/).

I am waiting for delivery of the Stirling LS3/5a and the Harbeth HL-P3ES2, and will be comparing those contenders with the ERA 5, I hope, in our June 2006 issue.

Thank you Jim. It isn't the conventional publishing wisdom, but right since the inception of our website, I have felt it very important to our readers to make our review archive easily accessible on-line.
