What are your feelings/preferences as to low frequency extension? Or music preferences in general? Those stand mount speakers do a lot of other things right but will have limitations in bass extension and weight. Also, for optimal performance, you'll have to factor in decent speaker stands. This applies to any stand mount speaker.

That budget should be able to net you some decent used floorstanders, should you find their greater bass extension more to your liking.

I'm familiar with a good deal of electronica and trance/progressive. In my earlier days, this was music at high volume in the car, and on Thursday, Friday and Saturay nights.

Lots of choices out there. These B&Ws partnered with reasonable cost Rotel integrated amp and CD player would likely prove to be satisfying. As would some of
PSB's entry level floorstanders partnered with NAD.

These would, imho, make for a good turnkey system.
