Its 0:30 in Germany right now and I'm still enjoying my new M-Audio Audiophile USB. It's not what I mentioned before but I'm really happy! I got a great bargen at the Local Guitar shop:D The clarinets in "Tom Waits - All the World is Green" sound AMAZING! OK I still have some problems with the Digital in- and outputs. But I don't need them! Finally great sound from my PC.

I was hoping you would get one of the above as I am looking at the Maya44, the Juli@, the 2 M-Audio's you mention and the Xonar.
The Xonar is easiest to get for me but I'm still doubting.
Thanks for the reference to your system. It got me browsing E-bay again.

I have enjoyed my Echo Indigo 24/96 card for my laptop. It is full duplex so I can record and monitor at the same time. with my software I can record at 24/88.2 if I wish.

I have been evaluating the Behringer 24/96 firewire unit for a while. At $80 it is a good buy, but you cannot monitor when recording. I do like the front panel headphone jack and control. I think for $80 it is good value. It also will not allow 88.2 recording which allows for better transfers back to Cd redbook, but at this price I need to stop nitpicking.

My next desktop card will be the Digital Audio Labs Card DeLux. at $399, If I stay in PC land. I get tired of trying to dance around this issue of quality and coming up slightly short each time. Until I buy this card, that is what I WILL BE DOING. Buy right...buy once!

If I went to $1K I would look at the firewire units from RME Hammerfall with mic preamps and line ins.
